Jon D. Tanner, RFC CDFA

Jon D. Tanner, RFC CDFA, is president of SUMMIT Advisory Solutions, Ltd. and a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley. Jon brings over 35 years of experience to the table in all aspects of financial planning and asset management, working primarily with those going through a major life transition. For the past 15 years his practice has focused heavily on consulting in Matrimonial Cases using both Collaborative and Mediation models in addition to traditional litigation. In addition to consulting, he has been actively involved in training professionals in the Interdisciplinary Model for Collaborative Divorce. Jon was a founding member of the Hudson Valley Collaborative Divorce & Dispute Resolution Association (HVCDDRA), member of the Executive Board of HVCDDRA, and a member of the Collaborative Divorce Groups of Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties. He was also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).
While he has scaled back this part of his practice in recent years to allow for greater focus on Retirement and Legacy Planning, working in this often high-conflict environment has provided him with a unique skillset to help people plan for and successfully navigate difficult life transitions.
“Over the years we have witnessed many people struggling to find the help they needed to map out their financial future. Decades of experience and training have proven that a “team” approach is often the most effective method to help clients who have a variety of needs to be considered. It is our practice, with a client’s consent, to consult and coordinate with their accountants, lawyers, insurance agents, brokers, bankers and others during the course of our work together. By working together as a team, we can best help our clients make informed choices and financial decisions while navigating Life’s Transitions.”
